Analysis of the Structural Relationship Among Belief in Public Service, Sense of Calling, Job Involvement, and Customer Orientation for Health Care Workers

|
The purpose of this study was to examine the structural relationship among belief in public service, sense of calling, job involvement, and customer orientation for workers in medical institutions. The subjects of this study were 431 workers from 33 medical institutions located in J Province. The collected data was statistically analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and SmartPLS 2.0. As a result, belief in public service and sense of calling have a statistically significant positive effect on job involvement and customer orientation. Job involvement has a partial mediating effect on the relationships between belief in public service and customer orientation, and sense of calling and customer orientation. Therefore, it is necessary to develope and operate job-value education programs for the improvement of belief in public service and sense of calling in the course of the training of the health care workers. In addition, the organizational culture that can maintain and strengthen public service and sense of calling, and the working environment should be created for the improvement of job involvement.
